What is the mission of Liberia's Children Community Library Foundation?
Our mission is to empower underserved children, youth, and adults in Liberia and neighboring countries by building libraries that provide access to books, technology, and vocational training - especially in communities affected in civil crisis. We place special emphasis on empowering girls and women through literacy and skill-building.
Why focus on libraries in post-conflict communities?
During the civil crisis, many schools and learning infrastructures were destroyed. Libraries are a powerful, cost-effective way to reintroduce education and opportunity these communities. They provide safe spaces for learning, creativity, and rebuilding futures - particularly for those most vulnerable.
Who benefits from your programs?
Our programs serve children, youth, and adults, with a strong focus on girls and women. We aim to foster literacy, confidence, leadership, and employable skills in communities where educational resources are limited or non-existent.
Each library is a community learning hub offering:
-Access to books and digital resources
-Reading and writing programs
-Storytelling and literacy workshops
-Educational games and tech access
-Vocational training in skills such as sewing, computer literacy, and small business development
How are donations used?
Donations are used to:
-Build and maintain libraries
-Purchase and ship books and educational materials
-Hire and train local staff
-Provide vocational training programs
-Equip libraries with solar power, internet, and basic technology
We operate with transparency and ensure every dollar has a direct impact.
Can I donate books or supplies?
